Earn Press Room Spidering by the Google Newsbot

If you frequently publish news, your press room may be accepted as Google News source, which displays results at http://www.google.com/news.

For each article or press release, the Google News site includes a brief description, a link, and, sometimes, a visual. In order to qualify for inclusion at Google News, publish legitimate news content at least once a week, contributed by more than one writer, with editorial review according to standard news guidelines.

To apply for inclusion in Google News, submit your request at http://www.google.com/support/news_pub/. Select "How do I recommend my site for inclusion in Google News?" You will be sent to an online form and asked to provide information about your website.

If your press room is deemed ineligible to become a Google News source, you can still get your press releases picked up by the Google Newsbot by submitting the press releases via a paid newswire service, such as PRWeb. A free, but less reliable alternative is to submit your press releases to blogs and websites that are already spidered by the Google Newsbot. Simply do a Google News search for keyphrases that are related to your release. Identify  where the related stories are coming from, make a list of these websites, and ask them if they accept submissions.
